The sea is deep and full of terrors.

The first trilogy I published is set in the Sea of Tears where witches are hunted, and the kraken is feared. There is more to this world than the island nation, and I hope to revisit it some day.

This weekend you can get the first novel in this exciting trilogy for free. Witch’s Sacrifice, the first steps in this dark fantasy.

Also an update to Vertigo. It is available on WattpadRoyalRoad, and now WebNovel. I add a new chapter every Saturday, and there are currently five chapters up. You can follow it there, and I will occasionally send out emails to notify when several new chapters are up.
Vertigo is a side quest for The Hub world based around trading card games.

Next month is NaNoWriMo and I already have the fourth book of The Hub World series planned and ready to go. Currently I’m working on the second book in The Half Blood Sorceress series. I’d like to get both out soon. I’ll give you an update on that after NaNoWriMo.

Until then, keep reading!

Beware the Woods

Have you ever noticed that a lot of fairy tales take place in the deep dark woods? Maybe that’s because there are creatures out there in the forest that want to eat you, and without a flashlight it gets really dark out there.

On that note chapter 4 of Vertigo is out today, and there is something in the woods, and it’s hungry.

Read for free on RoyalRoad or wattpad.

Sometimes the horrors you know are better than the secrets in the dark

Ghostly Intentions started out as a haunted house story….with an elf, and a mage. Horror fantasy.
Conventional wisdom says “don’t cross the genres”. A little like Ghostbusters, you aren’t supposed to cross the streams, but I can’t help myself. I love fantasy, and horror (both psychological and the monster of the week kind) are some of my favorite kinds of stories. So of course I mixed them together.
It is a stand alone, with the potential for a series some day, but not in the works currently.
And this weekend it is free.

If you read Ghostly Intentions please take a moment to give it a review on Amazon. The best way to get new readers to take a chance on your writing is if it has reviews. Thank you so much for helping me in this way.
And remember you can get everything I’ve written in KU as well.

Till then, keep reading!

Of Gods and Goddesses

In school I was fascinated by Greek and Roman mythology. I tried finding, and reading, as many as I could. From Zeus and his escapades with women, to Persephone trapped in Hades. Because of those myths I love fantasy. So it wasn’t unusual that one of my first novels would be a book based on old myths.

This weekend you can get Forgotten Ones free. They thought the gods were dead, but they were wrong. An intricate blending of science fiction, fantasy, and mythology.

This is my urban fantasy series. If you like it please review it. I have several others planned, but it is on the back burner for now. I would love to dive into it further, and if you really want to see another book in this series reviews are the best way to encourage that.

Till then, keep reading!

Crissy Moss

Hello Texas!

It is March first, and we have started our new life here in Texas.

It took five days to drive from Seattle to Houston. We would drive six to ten hours a day, stopping along the road to visit with friends, have lunch, and get out and stretch. When the sun went down we found a place to stay, and get up bright and early the next morning to push on.

It rained from Seattle to northern CA. We were so happy to get out of the rain. Still, it was cold until we got to southern CA.

The land was beautiful, from the mountains in the north west still covered in snow, to the warm deserts in Arizona and western Texas. The place we are staying in The Woodlands has….well…woods. I was so happy to see trees again! So much of AZ to TX is bereft of trees, and I really missed them.

During the week traveling I managed to write quite a bit and flesh out book 3, Steel Line, as well. Because I was only writing on my tablet and phone I had files saved on each of them that were not connected to my actual scrivener. Yesterday I compiled everything together and rewrote a bit. I’m really happy with how it’s turning out.

Steel Line is going to be a lot longer than the first two books, and have a nice dungeon crawl. It’s been fun to write it, especially because I have been digging into the world building a lot more. Can’t wait to get it done and out to everyone. I’m hoping by next month. Even while moving, transferring things from our home to the trash, and thrift stores, and trying to see as many people as possible, I still managed to write about half my normal monthly total. Now that I’m writing full time I’m aiming for a lot more, though.

For THIS weekend you can get book 1, Steel Soul, for free. Click right here! Book two is also available on KU as well.

FINISHED! Book 2 done!

I just finished the first draft of Steel Heart, book two in my litRPG series.

I finished the first book, Steel Soul, in June, and the second book today. That’s two months of writing. I’m getting a little faster.

Both books would be in the novella category at the moment, about 100 pages I think. Each is a full story on its own, but part of a bigger story. I’m going to go over them one more time, add in some details, some foreshadowing, and other plot things that I can add now (since I haven’t published them yet) which will add a few thousand more words to them both. I expect they will both still fall in the novella range, but I’m okay with that. A story should be as long as a story wants to be, and each of theses has a definite end point.

I’ve already started book three, which I might be calling “Steel Trap”, I haven’t decided yet. I also know this isn’t the final episode in the story. They are finally going to meet someone pulling all the strings, but it won’t be the end of the matter by any means. In fact…the game might start falling out into the real world. We’ll have to see. I’m still discovering the plot as I go as well.

Also, I wanted to let you know that The Ring is free this weekend. I won’t be putting short stories, or any litRPG into KU anymore, I’ll be taking them wide, so this will be he last time this particular story is available for free for a while. I will probably make a few of my short stories perma-free just because it might a few more eyes on my books, but for now I’m just writing more, and saving releasing them all at the end of the year. Look for that!

Currently ready to be edited:
Steel Soul
Steel Heart
Costume Shop

Working on:
Half Blood Sorceress book 2
Steel Trap

If I can get everything done….I’m working on it! I know that Costume Shop needs to come out on October 1st since it’s a Halloween story. I would like to release a book a month every month after that. I’ve got three so far!

Working away….but it’s fun!

Yesterday was a busy busy day. I’m in the middle of updating everything in my catalog, and…that’s a big job.

Currently I have 25 books out, most of which are short stories. I’ve been updating the back-matter, authors notes, and just about everything else, then republishing them. Plus…I’m finally going wide. I’ve been wanting to do this for a while, at least with my short stories, but it’s been a task since there are so many of them. Now that I have a couple more books ready to be edited so I can publish them I think it’s the right time to get this done.

So, over the next couple of weeks that’s what I’ll be doing. Editing, reformatting, and uploading my books as they drop out of KU. If you are in KU and you want to read any of the short stories you should do that now while that is an option. I know some of them are dropping off the beginning of next month, and the rest will be out in the next three. So by September all the short stories will be out of KU.

As for the writing, I put in another chapter or two of the second book in my litRPG. I figured out the rest of the plot. And I started work on the third book. This is going FANTASTIC! Expect to see them starting to appear in another month. I want at least two and a half books complete before I start publishing. This, along with Costume Shop and another short story will give me a chance at getting a lot of new books out there for you. The last month and this month I wrote more than 11,000 words. That’s double what I was doing before. It’s good to feel creative again.

Also, Small Bites 1 is free this weekend. I’ll have a few short stories free during the next few weekends to take advantage of their last bit of time in KU. This will be the first one.

Also I will be streaming occasionally. If you’d like to come over, chat, ask questions, or see what I’m doing stop in and say hi. I will be drawing, painting, doing different crafts, or writing. I might even do a few small games here and there.

Till next time, happy reading.
