Remember that “Witch’s Sacrifice” is on sale for $0.99 for the rest of the weekend. If you haven’t checked it out yet now is your chance. It won’t be on sale again until the third book comes out sometime around the end of the year.

Have a wonderful day ya’ll.

The “shockingly offensive” article was very interesting. I have to say, I mostly agree with her. I think all genres could benefit from more diverse viewpoints, and science-fiction and fantasy are particularly guilty of that.

As a white hetero man, I never noticed how skewed things were until people pointed it out to me. Rantasmo has a great video about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_4aDJV_gjU

From a male perspective, rape, the main problem in the article author’s opinion, is “no big deal”. There’s no real defending that. Women in general in sci-fi and fantasy are very compliant, because that’s what the author and the readers (at the time) wanted.

I think having a focus on it does help the genre in general. People are influenced by what they read and being more open to different viewpoints does help. The only criticism I’d have of the article is the potential to confuse the author’s views with the character’s.
